Deering Park breaks ground on first phase, welcome center

Posted on April 17, 2025

Initial construction has begun on Deering Park, a large master-planned community in Edgewater near Interstate 95. The development will feature a mix of residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, employment centers, and public amenities, all designed with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship.

The project is a partnership between the Deering family and Brookfield Kolter Land Partners, building on the family’s long history of managing the former Farmton property. More than 46,000 acres of the land have already been preserved through conservation easements and are part of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, helping protect natural habitats and support wildlife movement.

Deering Park is being designed with sustainability in mind, including an integrated stormwater system, native landscaping, and conservation-focused planning. Features like the planned Edgewater Wetland Park aim to support environmental restoration efforts while providing recreational opportunities.

The first phase of development will include over 1,700 homes, along with parks, trails, and mixed-use spaces for retail and business. A Welcome Center is currently under construction and is expected to open in 2026, alongside the initial homes and community amenities.
